News › Oct. 9th Educational Meeting - Properties of Gold
The Educational Meeting will start at 7pm, following the Board Meeting which starts at 6pm! Anyone can come - members AND non-members .... it is a great time to check out our club and see some of the stuff we are doing!!!

This evening, Jim Hutchings from the Roseville Rock Rollers will be doing a presentation this month - "Properties of Gold"!

The presentation will be on the origins, chemistry, emplacements, and extraction of the mineral gold. The presentation will cover the physical properties of gold versus fools gold and the practical field methods for determining the difference. Various specimens will be made available for examination.

This is sure to be a great presentation - so hopefully we will see you all there! Remember it is a potluck, so please bring along a little snack or something to share with everyone!

Following the presentation we will have our Raffle, Attendance Drawing, and last, but not least, our monthly Rockhound Auction.

Also don't forget to bring in your October Monthly Challenge entry! The October Monthly Challenge is bringing in a decorated pumpkin! Carve it, paint it, sculpt it, draw on it, decorate it!! Have fun with it! All entries will be put into a drawing to win 3 free shop hours!! So be sure to remember to bring in a decorated pumpkin for your October Challenge!
