Mike Hunerlach and Joe Shook will be giving a presentation - "Rockhound Rules & Etiquette For Field Trips & Collecting". They will be going over basic etiquette, weather, maps, gps, safety/precautions, location (where are the rocks in), firearm rules and concerns, and much more!

Also the presentation will be covering places to collect in California, Nevada, and Oregon. This sounds like it will be a WONDERFUL educational presentation that we should likely have every year - to remind us of what will be expected from us all whether we attend a SMS field trip or other field trips or are going out collecting by ourselves, and to help new rockhounds learn how to be responsible, ethical, rock collectors that collect in a legal fashion with an eye and a mind for stewarding the areas we collect for future generations of rock hounds!

An additional heads up - Joe needs a SOLID head count by April 10th for the McDermitt Oregon trip, so contact him if interested in going and you can commit to that field trip!

And finally, but certainly not least, we will be having a raffle during the social at the end of the evening, after the educational meeting has concluded. Some fossils and crystals, etc have been donated to be used as raffle prizes! The proceeds of the raffle will be to help generate funds for the running of the club. Anyone can donate items to be raffled off.

Details about how the raffle will be run will be explained during the meeting. But it should be fun and affordable to all to join in and allow there to be several winners!

So hopefully we will see you all on Thursday! :)
